"The Rose" Unisex EcoSmart Sweatshirt - This sketch artwork of "The Rose" was the first rose I ever sketched. It was created during the first lockdown in South Africa at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic — a time when the world felt uncertain, heavy, and unfamiliar, yet somehow offered space for reflection, rest, connection, and realignment all at once.

The piece embodies solitude and the quiet complexity that comes with it. Through its black, white, and grey shading, the artwork explores emotional duality — the feeling of being alone yet never truly alone, emotionally drained yet overwhelmed with emotion at the same time. It reflects mourning and stillness, emptiness and peace, all existing together within the same space.

The sense of “nothingness” within the piece also carries its own paradox. It is both a void and an opening — a still, silent place that can either consume you or awaken you to everything that exists beyond yourself. Though the artwork is deeply emotional in meaning, it remains restrained in its expression, holding intense feeling beneath a calm and almost emotionless surface.
